When I moved to Sault Ste. Marie I found it very difficult to find employment so I came to Employment Solutions seeking help with my job search. Everyone I met at Employment Solutions was extremely helpful and guided me to a wealth of resources to help me secure employment. My consultant, Lillian, personally reviewed my resumes and cover letters for each of my job applications, providing me with valuable feedback and encouragement. She additionally helped me understand the transferability of my skills and experience, guiding me to career pathways and job opportunities I had not previously considered. I have since secured employment in the Sault and could not have done so without the help and guidance of the staff at Employment Solutions.

I started nearly two years ago trying to figure out how I could change my life and have a career that boosted my self-confidence. The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities helped me achieved my goal.

I attended Sault College in the fall of 2008, enrolled as a Personal Support Worker student. By the summer of 2009, I was attending my graduation as an honour roll student with distinction.  I am currently employed with the Algoma Residential Community Hospice; a very special place to be that I am proud to say I’m a part of. As well, I am employed at We Care, which offers a beautiful perspective in health care. To top it all off, I’m starting a new chapter in my life as a home owner – something I never thought I could achieve, but am now working towards.

There aren’t enough thank-yous or words to express how thankful I am to be given this awesome opportunity.
