Northern Policy Institute is Northern Ontario’s independent think tank. We perform research, collect and disseminate evidence, and identify policy opportunities to support the growth of sustainable Northern Ontario communities.

Northern Policy Institute is seeking a Communications Officer to be based in our Sault Ste. Marie office. The Communication Officer will play a central role in developing and delivering on the education and outreach priorities of NPI. Solid analytical and writing skills are a must. Experience with both traditional media as well as online and social media tools and analytics are essential. Content and message management public, government, and media relations will all be important tasks of this position.
Bachelor degree or College training will be considered. Some experience would be of great value. Knowledge of desktop publishing, web design and event management would be significant assets. Bilingualism, multilingualism, or a special knowledge of Northern Ontario would be a significant advantage.
